Our Story: A Foundation of Faith & Service
Steve and Eve Spires bring a unique blend of experience to Soul Shepherding Worldwide. Steve's journey began in a missionary family serving in Bangladesh before his father became an ordained minister and church planter in Slidell, LA. After earning his degree from the University of Mississippi and becoming certified in education, Steve spent 31 years teaching elementary school while simultaneously developing a heart for ministry. In 2017, Steve and Eve felt God's clear call to serve local churches as biblical counselors.
This calling led Steve to earn his biblical counseling certification from the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC) in 2020. Today, both Steve and Eve serve on the biblical counseling team at First Baptist Church, Slidell, while extending their impact globally through Soul Shepherding Worldwide. With 35 years of marriage, 5 adult children, and 3 grandchildren, the Spires bring both personal life experience and professional training to their work in Latvia, Finland, Belize, and beyond.
